The Edinburgh Southside Choir is a mixed voice choir started in 2010 by our Musical Director Seonaid Lynn, enlisting the help of some singers attending her evening classes at the time. Some are still singing with the choir today.

Rehearsals take place in the beautiful Binks Hall at the Greyfriars Charteris Centre in the Pleasance.

The choir holds two concerts during the year with occasional extra performances.

We hold no auditions and there is no requirement to read music. Our members bring a variety of experience from extensive choral singing to none at all.

Like our members our repertoire is an eclectic mix ranging from traditional and modern to thoughtful and upbeat.  Singing in four part harmony whether Scottish folk, early carols, spirituals, songs from the shows or modern choral our mixed programme is created to lift the spirits. We use sheet music and rehearsal tracks are provided on Dropbox for all the pieces.

We are a friendly, relaxed group who enjoy singing together and work hard to continue developing our performance level.
